11-Year-Old Accused of Stabbing Her Own Mother Nine Times

In my day, we got our ass beat so we weren’t disrespectful. If we were, we got a switch off the tree or the nearest extension cord to our backside. And yes, at times, we got the fly swatter to our backside and no, it wasn’t sanitized first. We had consequences for our behavior. These days, kids have no consequences and heaven forbid parents be allowed to spank their butt. The left has a fit and this is the result of no discipline. I don’t have to worry about my children stabbing me while I sleep.

A girl was arrested Saturday morning after stabbing her own mother nine times, a local ABC affiliate reported.

Police did not identify the name of the victim or the girl, but WFAA-TV reported that Toshia Edmonson was stabbed by her daughter over a disagreement about her having to come home. According to police, the girl was “so, so angry and frustrated with her.”

“It’s a sad situation all the way around if that be the case,” neighbor Dorothy Hawkins told KTVT. ”But I pray that she’d be okay.”

The police report indicated that Edmonson, who is currently in stable condition, reacted to the girl’s anger over having to come home by shoving her and threatening to give her away, WFAA-TV reported.

The girl reportedly then waited for her mother to fall asleep and used a kitchen knife to stab her repeatedly in the head, neck and shoulder. The woman woke up screaming and was able to eventually take away the knife from her daughter, WFAA-TV reported.

Ben Ferrell, a family friend, said the girl appeared to regret her actions almost immediately.

“Before the police had left, (the daughter) was halfway back to herself, crying for her mother,” he said, adding that “this is just totally out of character” for the girl.

As of Saturday afternoon, the Edmonson was still in the hospital, but in stable condition and talking. The girl is being held at Henry Wade Juvenile Center.
